A customer has inputted their name or email address incorrectly
Learn how to update a customer's name or email address in eola, when you can make changes yourself, and what to do if you're unable to change it.
Sometimes customers are in a rush and input their name or email address incorrectly, or use an old email address they no longer have access to. As a result they won't recieve their booking confirmation and may ask you to amend the email address.
You will be able to edit their name and email address as long as:
- They are a new eola customer (they don't already have an eola account with their correct email address associated)
- They haven't yet completed your disclaimer or question pack
To edit their name or email address:
- Open calendar and locate the booking
- Click 'Manage'
- Find the customer and click 'Edit'
- Amend name and/or email as required
- Click 'Save'
If you are unable to save their new email address then it is likely they already have an eola account (they may have used it with another outlet previously) or they have already completed the disclaimer or question pack. If this is the case then we would recommend reading our I cannot edit a customers name or email address help article.
Helpful tips:
- If you or your team are taking bookings over the phone or at your reception desk, always double-check the spelling of the customer's name and email address before completing the booking
- If a customer contacts you to say they've entered the wrong name or email address, encourage them not to complete the disclaimer or question pack until you've made the amendment. Once these have been completed, you may no longer be able to edit their details yourself
- If you're unable to update the customer's details, refer to our 'I am unable to edit a customer's name or email address' help article linked above for the next steps
