Let customers request a time slot
Learn how to let customers request a date and time that suits them, and how to accept their request and take payment.
Not every booking fits a fixed timetable. With time slot requests turned on, customers can ask for a date and time that suits them, and you decide whether to accept. It works well for private sessions, small groups and activities you'd rather arrange around your team's availability.
Turn on time slot requests
Time slot requests are turned on for your whole widget.
- Go to Toolset -> Widget -> Widget settings
- Under Timeslot requests, select 'Enable timeslot requests'
- Click Save
Important: an activity only shows on your widget when it has at least one upcoming bookable time. If the activity has no fixed dates, add one bookable date to its schedule, or share a direct link to the activity so customers can go straight to it and request a time.
How customers request a time
On the activity in your widget, customers can request a time slot and suggest the date and time they'd like. You'll receive an email with the details of their request.
Accept a request
Open the request email and use the confirm link to accept it. Once you've accepted, your customer completes their booking by paying through a payment link.
The confirm link opens your eola Dashboard, so you need to be signed in. Many email apps open links in their own built-in browser, where you won't be signed in. If the link shows an error, copy it into a browser where you're signed in to eola and open it from there.
Good to know
- Time slot requests are a handy option if you have a minimum group size. You can keep set sessions for full groups and let smaller groups request a time with you
- Rentals can use time slot requests too, which is useful if you'd like to check a customer's details before they hire
- If you're not sure how to set up a particular activity for requests, contact our team at help@eola.co and we'll be happy to help
Helpful tips:
- Keep your regular sessions on your calendar so customers can book open times straight away and request anything else
- If a customer requests a time that's already open, they may not have spotted it. Point them to the later dates on the activity
- Stay signed in to eola in your phone's browser so you can accept requests on the go
- Reply to requests promptly so customers can plan their day with confidence
