Understand how disclaimers work for returning customers

Find out when returning customers need to sign your disclaimer again, how remembered signatures work and what happens when you edit a disclaimer.

Your disclaimer helps make sure every customer understands the risks of your activities before they take part. For customers who come back again and again, eola can remember their signature, so rebooking stays quick and easy.

How remembered signatures work

When you create or edit a disclaimer, you can tick 'Remember signature'.

  • Remembered: a customer signs once and won't be asked to sign that disclaimer again on future bookings, as long as the wording hasn't changed
  • Not remembered: the customer is asked to sign every time they book

Signatures carry across your activities

A signature belongs to the disclaimer, not the activity. If you use the same disclaimer on several activities, a customer who has signed it for one won't need to sign it again when they book another.

If your activities use different disclaimers, customers sign each one the first time they book an activity that uses it.

What happens when you edit a disclaimer

If you change a disclaimer's wording, customers are asked to sign the updated version at their next booking. This makes sure everyone has agreed to your latest terms.

When to ask customers to sign every time

Some operators prefer a fresh signature on every booking, for example if conditions change from day to day. In that case, turn off 'Remember signature' on that disclaimer.

Good to know

  • Each activity or rental can have one disclaimer assigned at a time
  • Remembered signatures apply to activities and rentals that share the same disclaimer
  • To edit or create disclaimers, go to Toolset -> Policies -> Disclaimers

Helpful tips:

  • Use one general disclaimer across similar activities so repeat customers only sign once
  • Make wording changes in one go, as every edit asks customers to sign again
  • Review your disclaimer each season alongside your risk assessments
