Set up your card reader

Learn how to set up your eola card reader, connect it to WiFi and pair it with your eola account.

Once your card reader arrives, it only takes a few minutes to set up and pair with your eola account. After that, you're ready to take in-person payments.

Set up the device

  1. Insert the battery, charge the reader and turn it on
  2. Open the settings menu and connect the reader to your WiFi network (WPA/WPA2-Personal networks only)
  3. Generate a pairing code from the settings menu. You'll need the reader's admin PIN, which is shown on the 'How to use it' tab of the Card readers app

Connect it to eola

  1. Go to Toolset -> Apps -> Card readers and select 'Add to eola'
  2. Go to the new Card readers section in your Toolset
  3. Name your reader and pair it using the code you generated

Once it's paired, your reader is ready to use.

Helpful tips:

  • Give each reader a clear name, such as 'Front desk', if you have more than one
  • Keep the reader charged before busy sessions
  • If the reader won't connect, check your WiFi network type is WPA/WPA2-Personal
