Create an activity
Learn how to create and manage activities in eola, including schedules, pricing, add-ons, resources, languages, booking options and recurring availability.
Activities are at the heart of your eola booking system. Whether you offer one experience or dozens, you can use activities to create bookable experiences with fixed start times, flexible pricing, recurring schedules and all the information your customers need to make a booking.
You can add activities whenever you need to, so there's no need to set everything up in one go. As your business grows or your offering changes, you can come back and add new activities at any time.
Create an activity
To create an activity, go to Products -> Activities -> Create.
You'll then work through a series of pages where you can build your activity and customise how it works for both you and your customers.
Activity details: Start by adding the information about your activity. This is the content your customers will use to understand what you're offering, so take the opportunity to make it clear, useful and appealing.
Schedule: Set when your activity takes place and how often it runs. The repeat function makes it easy to create recurring schedules. You can choose to repeat an activity daily, weekly or yearly, either indefinitely or until a specific date.
Pricing: Set the price for your activity, choosing whether adults and children pay the same price or have different rates. You can also add add-ons and create group pricing discounts, giving you plenty of flexibility to build the pricing structure that works for your business.
Resources: If you've enabled Resources, you can assign the number of people each resource can accommodate. This can help you manage capacity and avoid taking bookings beyond what you can accommodate.
Languages: If you've enabled Languages, you can customise the information displayed to customers depending on their browser language, helping you provide a more accessible experience for international customers.
Options: The Options page gives you control over how your activity works and appears on your booking widget. Here you can set your minimum booking notice, allow customers to purchase activity vouchers, and assign the relevant disclaimer and question pack.
Once you're happy with your activity, click Save and Exit. You'll be able to go in and edit the activity at any time by going to Products -> Activities -> Edit. If your activities are relatively similar, then you can even duplicate the activity for a super quick set up.
Activities vs rentals
Activities are designed for experiences with a fixed start time. eola automatically creates bookable time slots based on the duration you've set.
If you offer equipment hire or something that customers book for a flexible length of time, rentals may be more suitable. Rentals allow you to set a minimum and maximum rental period and show customers the available options. Take a look at our Create a rental guide if you offer equipment or flexible-length hire.
