Create a disclaimer
Learn how to create and assign disclaimers in eola, helping you collect customer agreements, support safety processes and manage requirements for activities and rentals.
Disclaimers are an important part of managing your activities and protecting both your customers and your business. For many adventure activities, collecting a signed disclaimer before participation is an essential part of your safety process. eola makes it simple to create disclaimers, collect customer agreement and assign them to the relevant activities or rentals.
You can create multiple disclaimers within eola, allowing you to tailor them to different experiences. However, each product can only have one assigned disclaimer at a time.
Create a disclaimer
To create a disclaimer, go to Toolset -> Policies -> Disclaimers -> Create a disclaimer
You'll then be guided through the setup process.
Add your disclaimer details
Start by adding a name for your disclaimer. Choose something clear that will help you and your team identify it easily.
Next, select the type of document you're creating:
- Disclaimer: for activities and rentals where you need customers to acknowledge risks and agree to your safety requirements
- Terms and Conditions: for memberships, where you need customers to agree to your terms at the point of joining
Choose your signature settings
You'll also be able to decide whether customers can remember their signed disclaimer. This can be useful if you have regular customers who return frequently, as they won't need to complete the same disclaimer every time (where appropriate).
If you make a future change to a disclaimer, then your customers will be prompted to sign again next time that they make a booking.
Add your content
You can create your disclaimer directly within eola, or copy and paste content you've already prepared from another document. Make sure your disclaimer clearly explains any relevant risks, customer responsibilities and important information they need to understand before taking part.
Once complete, save your disclaimer.
Assign your disclaimer
After creating your disclaimer, you'll need to assign it to the relevant activity or rental.
When a customer books an experience with an assigned disclaimer, they'll be asked to review and agree to it as part of the booking process.
Helpful tips:- Keep your disclaimers clear and easy for customers to understand. Avoid unnecessary jargon and focus on the key information they need before taking part
- Review your disclaimers regularly to ensure they still reflect your activities, equipment and safety processes
- You can create multiple disclaimers for different activities, but remember each product can only have one disclaimer assigned at a time
- Disclaimers are an important safety tool, but they should work alongside your wider risk assessments and safe operating procedures
