# Create a discount code

## Learn how to add the free Discount codes app, create a discount code for your activities and rentals, and track how often each code is used.

Discount codes are a great way to reward loyal customers, run a seasonal promotion or encourage repeat bookings. You choose the discount, when it starts and how long it lasts, and eola tracks how often each code is used. Discount codes are free to use for all eola partners.

**Add the Discount codes app**

To use discount codes, go to Toolset -\> Apps, select Discount codes and select 'Add to eola'. Once it's added, you'll see Discount codes under Products.

If you don't see the option to add it, contact our team at [**help@eola.co**](mailto:help@eola.co) and we'll switch it on for you.

**Create a discount code**

To create a discount code, go to Products -\> Discount codes -\> Create.

1. Add your own discount code, or use the one provided
2. Set the level of discount as a percentage
3. Set the start date
4. Set the expiry period in days, weeks, months or years
5. Choose whether to enable 'multi-use codes'. If it's not enabled, each email address can only use the code once
6. Click Create

**Track how your codes are performing**

Your Discount codes page shows each code alongside useful information, including the number of redemptions, the items purchased with it and the total value. It's an easy way to see which promotions are bringing customers back.

**Good to know**

- Discount codes can be applied to specific products, including rentals
- If you have more than one outlet, codes can be used across your company or set for a particular outlet's products

**Helpful tips:**

- Use codes that are easy to remember and type, such as SUMMER10
- Set an expiry period to create a sense of urgency for seasonal offers
- Share your codes in your newsletter with customers who have opted in to marketing
- Check your Discount codes page after a campaign to see how many bookings it brought in
