# Add reporting codes to your products

## Learn how to use the Reporting code app to tag your products with codes that make your booking and payout reports easier to sort.

If you match your eola sales to your own accounts or tracking, reporting codes make that much easier. The Reporting code app lets you add your own code to each product, so you can sort and group transactions in your reports.

It's free to use, and codes are never shown to your customers.

**Switch on Reporting code**

1. Go to Toolset -\> Apps
2. Select 'Reporting code'
3. Select 'Add to eola' and confirm if prompted

**Add a reporting code to an activity**

1. Go to Products -\> Activities and select 'Edit' on the activity
2. Open the Pricing step
3. Under Financials, enter your code in the Reporting code field
4. Click Save and exit

Your rentals have a reporting code field too, and so do store items when you create them.

**Where do the codes appear?**

Your codes are included when you export your booking and payout reports, so you can sort and group your sales however suits your business.

**Helpful tips:**

- Use the same codes as your accounting software, such as nominal codes, to save time at month end
- Agree a simple naming pattern with your team before you start
- Add codes to new products as you create them so your reports stay complete
